Read the article. Write your summary of the article in three parts.
A. Give a complete, correct bibliographic citation at the top of the page. Include these pieces of information in this order: Authorâ€s name, year, title of the article, name of the journal, volume number, and pages.
Example 1: Nussbaum, F., 1991. Introduce Successful Library Assignments to Students in Biological Sciences. The American Biology Teacher. 53, 301-304.
Example 2: Corbett, E., Finkle, S., (1992 ). The Little English Handbook. New York: HarperCollins, 205-216.
Summarize the major content of the article in terms of the authorâ€s purpose, methods, results, and conclusions. Do not include your own thoughts, judgments, or reactions to the article in this section of the review. (When you summarize, have a general overview of the article )
Critically consider the articleâ€s content and evaluate its importance. Among the things you might consider are the following: What is your reaction to the article? Why is your reaction favorable or unfavorable? Has the article changed your previous thinking about this topic? Why is this article relevant? Does this article have any practical applications? What questions, if any, does the article leave you with? ( These are only some ideas you can use to help you think in an analytical way. )
